Use of Pedotransfer Functions in the Rosetta Model to Determine Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity (Ks) of Arable Soils: A Case Study

چکیده
A key parameter for the design of soil drainage and irrigation facilities modelling surface runoff erosion phenomena in land-formed areas is saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks). There are many methods determining its value. In situ laboratory measurements commonly regarded as most accurate direct methods; however, they costly time-consuming. Alternatives can be found increasingly popular models pedotransfer functions (PTFs), which used rapid determination hydrophysical parameters. This study presents an analysis Ks values obtained from conducted using a double-ring infiltrometer (DRI). The were permeability meter (LPM) estimated five PTFs Rosetta program, based on easily accessible input data, i.e., type, content various grain sizes %, density, water at 2.5 4.2 pF, respectively. degrees matching between results PTF investigated root-mean-square deviation (RMSD), Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE), coefficient (R2). statistical relationships tested variables confirmed Spearman’s rank correlation (rho). Data showed that only significantly correlated with tests intact samples; much higher. high sensitivity to biotic abiotic factors, especially upper horizons, did not allow satisfactory match those PTFs. contrast, measurements, significant values, by PTF-2 PTF-5; best was PTF-2.

Scale-Dependent Pedotransfer Functions Reliability for Estimating Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity
Saturated hydraulic conductivity Ksat is a fundamental characteristic in modeling flow and contaminant transport in soils and sediments. Therefore, many models have been developed to estimate Ksat from easily measureable parameters, such as textural properties, bulk density, etc. However, Ksat is not only affected by textural and structural characteristics, but also by sample dimensions e.g., i...
متن کاملdevelopment of some pedotransfer functions to predict the saturated hydraulic conductivity of gravel soils using partial least square regression method
abstract saturated hydraulic conductivity (ks) is one of the most important physical properties of soils which is expensive and time-consuming to directly measure. hence, indirect methods, such as pedotransfer functions (ptfs), were developed to predict the ks. previous studies showed that most of the ptfs common in the literature can not suitably predict the ks. hence, this study was conducted...

Saturated hydraulic conductivity of soil is an important physical property of soil that affects water movement in soil, Since the measurement of saturated hydraulic conductivity by direct methods in the field or in the laboratory is hard, time-consuming and costly, the indirect methods are being used. The aim of this study is to estimate the saturated hydraulic conductivity from other soil prope...
